PHASE II-B: Backboard Rainbow Facade Creation


Continue working with the previously created file.

1...Contract and Feather Full Size Mask.

  • Turn off the Colorized and the Black layers (click on the eye icon in each layer).

  • Click on the Background Layer.
  • Click on the New Layer Icon.
  • Rename this layer Rainbow Facade.
  • Load the Full Size Mask.
  • Select > Modify > Contract... to value 3.
  • Select > Feather... to value 2.

Contract Selection

  • The sample indicate the mask contraction.

2...New Rainbow Facade Layer with Spectrum Fill

  • Select the Gradient Tool from the Toolbox.
  • Select the Spectrum Gradient from the Tools Palette Gradient List.

  • Apply Spectrum to the Rainbow Facade Selection from the bottom-left to the top-right (A to B spread).

3...Make it look more like the above sample.

  • Display both the Colorized and the Black layers (click in the display boxes to bring back the eye icons).
  • Move both Colorized and the Black layers below the Rainbow Facade layer.
